ADDIS ABABA - Zambia has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing African-led solutions after participating in the 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) held at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The meeting brought together Foreign Affairs Ministers from AU Member States to discuss strategies aimed at accelerating Africa's economic transformation and sustainable development under the African Union's Agenda 2063.
Zambia was represented by its Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Albert Muchanga.
Speaking during the session, Mr. Muchanga reaffirmed Zambia's commitment to the principles and objectives of the African Union, emphasizing the country's support for collective African solutions to continental challenges and the successful implementation of Agenda 2063.
He also highlighted the role of President Hakainde Hichilema as the African Union-appointed Champion for the Africa Water Vision and Policy Implementation Framework, underscoring Zambia's continued contribution to continental development initiatives.
Mr. Muchanga said Zambia looks forward to strengthening cooperation with fellow AU Member States to amplify Africa's voice in global affairs and deliver policies that improve the lives of citizens across the continent.
