CALL FOR URGENT POLICY REFORMS TO PREVENT FURTHER ESCALATION OF COST OF LIVING

 Policy Analyst Kelvin Chibomba is calling for urgent policy reforms and the activation of fuel reserves in the country to prevent the continued escalation of cost of living in the country.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Chibomba has emphasized the critical need for promptly implementing strategic policy changes, pointing to the existing vulnerabilities in the nation's economy stemming from a lapse in the implementation of energy sector policies.

Mr Chibomba is of the view that the government must proactively address pressing issues to safeguard against potential disruptions that could adversely impact citizens and businesses alike.

He has underscored the importance of having a well-functioning and adequately stocked reserve system, especially in the volatile global energy market which would serve as a crucial buffer against external shocks and ensure a steady and reliable supply of fuel for domestic consumption.

Further, Mr Chibomba has called on the government to engage in a comprehensive review of existing policies, identifying areas that require adjustment to align with current economic realities.
