The Oil Marketing Companies Association of Zambia-OMCAZ has advised newly appointed Energy Regulation Board-ERB Chairperson James Banda to urgently ensure the board reverts to the quarterly fuel pump price review.
OMCAZ president Kafula Mubanga has further advised Mr. Banda to critically look into issues raised by both the public and government with regards to pricing and restore public confidence in the ERB by holding consultations on the management of the petroleum sector.
Dr. Mubanga is confident that the newly appointed ERB board chairperson will deliver to the expectations of Zambians and re-unite the industry to the agenda of the energy sector.
He has reiterated that the current monthly model has not been sustainable for planning and doing business, which has affected the economy at large.
Energy Minister Peter Kapala has appointed James band as energy regulation board chairperson with effect from May 6, 2024, following the revocation of the appointment of Reynolds Bowa on 3rd may 2024.
