POLITICIZATION OF INSTITUTIONS OF GOVERNANCE LEADING TO EXTORTING OF PUBLIC FUNDS BY CIVIL SERVANTS

 

Constitutional Lawyer John Sangwa has observed that extorting of public funds has become the order of the day for civil servants because institutions of governance have been politicized and destroyed.

Speaking when he featured on the Tuesday’s edition of the “Let the People Talk Program” on Phoenix FM, Mr. Sangwa says currently civil servants do not feel secure in their employment due to high politicization of the institutions.

Mr. Sangwa says this is why most of them are now focusing on securing their lives by extracting government money as they feel they can be dismissed and replaced anytime.

He has since challenged government to depoliticize the public service and ensure professionalism if the country is to reclaim what he says is the lost glory.

And Mr. Sangwa has maintained that Former President Edgar Lungu is unsuitable to govern Zambia again and should never be an option even in the present situation where the country is experiencing economic challenges.
