Government has directed ZESCO to suspend the exportation of about 100 megawatts, following resolutions passed by cabinet to supplement the 800 megawatts deficit the country is facing.
Information and Media Minister Cornelius Mweetwa says this means Zesco will only be exporting 95 mega-watts from the 195 megawatts export deal.
Mr. Mweetwa has further revealed that all water processing plants, public universities and hospitals will not be subjected to load-shedding, as they will be furnished with solar energy system.
Mr. Mweetwa has disclosed that Ndola energy will soon start producing 135 Megawatts of power that will be fed to the Zesco grid in the next few days, a measure aimed towards the disaster response
