Energy Minister Peter Kapala has charged that Oil Marketing Companies-OMCS-that have failed to deliver diesel after being nominated are the ones complaining of unfair treatment by government.
He has explained that the government has completely disengaged itself from the procurement of petroleum products and is only nominating companies to supply the commodity using portions of the TAZAMA pipeline.
The energy minister says this is because the government wants to reduce the price of diesel and that the nominated companies are given one month in which to supply the commodity.
He says the engaged OMCS are happy with the measure that the government has taken adding that there are also a number of companies that are waiting to be nominated.
