WARMA HALTS DRILLING ACTIVITIES ALONG FREEDOM WAY IN LUSAKA

The Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) has stopped the drilling activities that were taking place outside the designated area along Freedom Way in Lusaka's Central Business District.

Smart Kalaluka, WARMA's Senior Public Relations and Communications Officer, explained that the driller and the client violated the terms of the drilling permit by conducting drilling outside the authorized point.

The client had been granted approval to drill a commercial borehole following proper procedures, but chose to drill outside the permitted area.

WARMA has initiated investigations to establish the facts and will inform the public of the findings in due course.

Mr. Kalaluka commended members of the public for their vigilance and timely reporting of this matter to the authority.
