Apostle Sunday Sinyangwe Urges Zambians to Vote with Conscience, Faith and Wisdom Ahead of Elections
LUSAKA – Apostle Dr. Sunday Sinyangwe has called on Zambians to participate in the country's electoral process by voting with conscience, faith and wisdom, while reaffirming his non-partisan position as a church leader.
In a statement addressed to fellow citizens, the founder of Shalom Embassy Ministries International said many people had approached him seeking guidance on which political candidate they should support. However, he stressed that his role as a member of the clergy is not to endorse any political party or candidate, but to encourage citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote responsibly.
"As a clergy, I remain non-partisan and do not belong to any political party. My role is not to endorse candidates but to encourage every citizen to exercise his or her sacred right to vote," Apostle Sinyangwe said.
He described voting as more than a civic responsibility, saying it is also a moral duty that allows citizens to shape the future of their communities and the nation based on values such as justice, compassion and hope.
According to Apostle Sinyangwe, the choice of leaders should reflect the principles that citizens wish to see guiding Zambia's future.
He further announced that his ministry would be sharing a series of guidelines through its social media platforms to help Christians and members of the public reflect on the values they should consider before casting their ballots.
"I encourage you to read, share and discuss them with family and friends so that together we may build a society rooted in peace, justice and hope," he said.
The clergyman urged eligible voters not to stay away from the polls, encouraging them to vote with a conscience guided by faith, wisdom and love for their neighbours.
