CITIZENS FIRST DISMISSES CLAIMS THAT HARRY KALABA HAS ENDORSED PRESIDENT HICHILEMA
By Patricia Mbewe
The opposition Citizens First has dismissed as false and malicious claims circulating on social media alleging that its president, Harry Kalaba, has endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema.
Party Presidential Spokesperson and Campaign Manager Stanley Mhango said Mr. Kalaba has made no such endorsement and that the Citizens First is not engaged in any discussions, negotiations, or arrangements to that effect.
Mr. Mhango has described the claims as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public, confuse members, and undermine the party’s growing support ahead of the forthcoming elections.
He has emphasized that the Citizens First remains firmly committed to its founding principles of integrity, accountability, transparency, good governance, and the fight against corruption, adding that Mr. Kalaba has consistently demonstrated that he will not compromise these values for political convenience.
He added that any political alliance or endorsement would only arise from a genuine convergence of values and national purpose and that at present, no discussions or considerations regarding an endorsement of President Hichilema are taking place.
