LUSAKA - A 34-year-old garden boy has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Lusaka High Court for the murder of his employers, a couple from Lusaka West.
Godfrey Phiri was convicted of murdering Bernard Chomba and his wife, Bwalya Chileshe, between November 19 and November 22, 2022.
The court heard that the murders were allegedly linked to a dispute over unpaid wages, after Phiri claimed that he had gone for three months without receiving his salary.
The couple's decomposing bodies were later discovered about 30 metres from their residence, following reports that they had been missing for three days.
Following the conviction, the Lusaka High Court sentenced Phiri to life imprisonment for the killings.
