M'membe Condemns Killing of Kafwaya, Calls for Sobriety and Justice

LUSAKA - Socialist Party President Fred M'membe has condemned the killing of Mutotwe Kafwaya, describing the incident as frightening, saddening and deeply disturbing.

In a statement, Dr M'membe expressed condolences to Mr. Kafwaya's widow, children, family and friends, while also paying tribute to his memory.

He said the news of Mr. Kafwaya's death had deeply affected the leadership of the Socialist Party and described the incident as a reflection of what he called growing political divisions and intolerance in Zambia.

Dr M'membe argued that no political doctrine, election dispute, principle or political position could justify what he described as the physical elimination of Mr. Kafwaya or any other citizen who may have died in the same circumstances.

He further said that no crime should be committed in the name of elections or law enforcement, calling for sobriety, humanity and justice to prevail in the country.

Dr M'membe urged Zambians to reject political divisions and intolerance and allow justice and humanity to guide the country's response to the incident.

He concluded by expressing his condolences to the Kafwaya family and praying for Mr. Kafwaya's soul to rest in eternal peace.
