No Citizen Should Die or Kill for an Election, Hichilema Says

LUSAKA - President Hakainde Hichilema has called on Zambians to reject violence and uphold peace ahead of the August 13 General Election.

President Hichilema said no citizen should lose their life or take another person's life because of an election, urging Zambians to choose peace.

"No citizen should die for an election. No citizen should kill for an election. We choose peace," President Hichilema said.

He said Zambia's peace should be protected before, during and after the election, regardless of political differences.
