Tayali released on Police bond, as he is scheduled to appear before court on June 22, 2022




AFTER  spending three days in Lukulu district prison facility in Western province for Defamation of the President, Economic and Equity Party (EEP) president, Chilufya Tayali has been released on police bond.


Tayali was last week Friday morning transported from Lusaka to Lukulu district if Western province on allegations of Defamation of the President.


Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says that Tayali has been released on police bond and is scheduled to appear in court


“He has been released  on police bond and is scheduled  to appear on June 22nd, this year for court/extension of police bond depending on the circumstances,” he said.


Tayali was last week charged and arrested for the offence of Defamation of the President Contrary to Section 69 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.


Tayali is accused of publishing defamatory remarks on his face book page on May 13, 2022.
