TWO juveniles of Mufulira have been arrested after they allegedly dragging a 12-year-old girl behind a church and defiled her.
However, the third suspect is on the run while those in custody are aged 14 and 12.
Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Sharon Zulu said police police have apprehended two juveniles for defilement and have since launched a manhunt for the third suspect.
“The ordeal occured on July 17,2022 on a Sunday around 17:00hrs near a Jehovah’s witness church of Kantanshi section one ,when the girl was from escorting her brother. Unfortunately on her way back home she met the three boys who confronted her and dragged her 50 metters away from the main road to the place of the incident,” she said.
Ms Zulu added that police had since apprehended two of the three suspects.
