Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for Administration Mambo Hamaundu has warned that the government will not hesitate to shut down business entities failing to adhere to high hygiene standards amid the escalating cases of cholera in the country.

Mr. Hamaundu emphasizes that given the increasing impact of cholera on the nation, everyone has the responsibility to adhere to precautions and health guidelines for Zambia to effectively combat the disease.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr Hamaundu has appealed to business owners to collaborate with the government in safeguarding the lives of many Zambians vulnerable to contracting the disease during their routine activities.

Further, Mr Hamaundu has advised citizens to avoid unhygienic places and cultivate a sense of responsibility in preventing the spread of cholera.
