Police in Lusaka are investigating a shooting incident involving former information and broadcasting services Minister Ronnie Shikapwasha which occurred yesterday at his residence in ibex hill.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga explains that Lieutenant General Shikapwasha was later rushed to Maina Soko Military Hospital by the wife and children where he is currently admitted.
Mr. Hamoonga says Police detectives are diligently working to establish the actual facts surrounding this unfortunate incident.
He has assured that the Police are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness and are committed to conducting a fair, impartial and transparent investigation.
Mr. Hamoonga says it is therefore essential to allow the investigation to proceed without speculation or premature conclusions.
