Police have apprehended and detained three suspects in connection to the murder of Idess Mulwe a 15 year old female juvenile of Zesco Kalundu area of Lusaka west. The incident occurred on January 1, 2024 around 05:00 hours at Zesco Kalundu area in Lusaka.
This followed after on January 2, 2024 at around 23:00 hours Police conducted motorized patrol and an operation where we apprehended the following persons:
1. Kelvin Mweemba aged 26 nicknamed is Tiger
2. Evans Zulu aged 22 nicknamed as Zero
3. Richard Dube aged 24 nicknamed Danger, while
4. William Silungwe age not known is still at large and police are pursuing him. All the suspects are of Double Impact Kalundu in Chilanga District.
Brief Facts of the matter are that on December 31,2023 around 22:30 hours the deceased and her family members retired to bed and on January 1,2024 around 05:00 hours the deceased brother Allan Mulwe aged 30 reported to Rosedale Police post on January 1 2024 at 18:00 hours that his young sister Ideas Mulwe aged 15 was assaulted and beaten by a group of about five junkies of Kanyama compound whom he can identify if seen and that she sustained bleeding from the mouth and nose and later died at Kanyama level one Hospital around 17:30 hours on January 1,2024.
All the suspects ran away at the time.Later police launched a manhunt which led to the apprehension and detention of the trio. Police are still pursuing the fourth suspect William Silungwe who is still at large.
