LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – Newly appointed United Kingdom Prime Minister Andy Burnham has begun reshaping his government by dismissing several senior ministers who served under his predecessor, Sir Keir Starmer, in a move widely viewed as a major reset of the Labour administration.
Among those reported to have left Cabinet are former Chancellor Rachel Reeves, Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, Business Secretary Peter Kyle, Housing Secretary Steve Reed, Wales Secretary Jo Stevens, Attorney General Lord Richard Hermer, and Science and Technology Secretary Liz Kendall.
The changes are being interpreted by political observers as part of Mr. Burnham's effort to assemble a Cabinet that aligns with his policy agenda and leadership priorities.
