LUSAKA - Zambian church leaders have continued their humanitarian appeal for 95-year-old Korean religious leader Chairman Man-hee Lee by holding a special prayer service for his life, health and human dignity during a national gathering in Lusaka.
The prayers came just days after religious and civil society leaders called for humanitarian protection for Chairman Lee during a press conference titled "Ubuntu - A Call for Universal Human Rights, Due Process, and Human Dignity."
The prayer session was held during the Official Launch of the Chaplaincy National Altar of Prayer for the Republic of Zambia, organised by the Missionary Ambassadors for Global Evangelism (MAGE) in collaboration with the Religious Affairs Department under the Office of the Vice President of Zambia.
Held under the theme "Standing in the Gap for the Nation," the event brought together bishops, pastors, chaplains and other church leaders to pray for the nation and address humanitarian concerns.
The gathering also included prayers for Chairman Man-hee Lee, with participants emphasizing the importance of human dignity, compassion and respect for fundamental human rights.
