Tayali Urges Voters to Consider PF Record Before Supporting Return to Power

LUSAKA - Economic and Equity Party leader Chilufya Tayali has urged Zambians to consider the record of the Patriotic Front (PF) before supporting what he described as a return to the party's style of governance.

Speaking in a telephone interview with ZNBC News, Mr. Tayali said the Tonse Alliance represents a continuation of PF policies and leadership.

He accused the former ruling party of presiding over what he described as widespread corruption and misuse of public resources during its time in government.

Meanwhile, Kanchibiya aspiring Member of Parliament Sunday Chanda said Zambians made a deliberate decision in the 2021 General Election after assessing the PF's performance while in office.

Mr. Chanda said the UPND Government has since delivered notable development projects and improvements at constituency level after taking over government.

He further claimed that the PF's own internal assessment following its 2021 electoral defeat identified cadreism, corruption and political violence among the factors that contributed to the party's loss.

The remarks come as political parties and candidates intensify their campaigns ahead of the August 13 General Election, with voters weighing the records and policies of the different political formations.
