LUSAKA – Access Bank Zambia has been named Zambia's Best Bank at the 2026 Euromoney Awards for Excellence, earning two additional accolades for Best Bank for SMEs and Best Bank for Sustainable Finance.
The awards were presented during the Euromoney Awards for Excellence ceremony held in London on 17 July 2026, recognising the Bank's performance in enterprise development, financial inclusion and sustainable banking.
The triple recognition reinforces Access Bank Zambia's position as one of the country's leading financial institutions and highlights its continued commitment to supporting businesses, expanding access to finance and promoting sustainable economic growth.
The Bank said it continues to strengthen its presence in Zambia by combining strong financial performance with investments in strategic sectors, trade and investment while leveraging its AccessAfrica platform to connect customers to business opportunities across Africa and international markets.
Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) remains a key pillar of the Bank's strategy. During the past year, Access Bank Zambia onboarded 6,930 new micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), providing not only financing but also business development support, market access and strategic partnerships.
The Bank also reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable finance through investments in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture and initiatives aimed at promoting financial inclusion and long-term economic development.
Commenting on the achievement, Access Bank Zambia Board Chairperson Anne Sampa described the awards as recognition of the Bank's long-term strategy and continued investment in Zambia.
"Winning these three Euromoney Awards is a strong endorsement of the progress made in the long-term strategy guiding the Bank's growth. The awards are the result of years of deliberate investment in strengthening our business, expanding opportunities for our customers and supporting Zambia's economy," Ms. Sampa said.
She added that the Bank remains committed to creating lasting value for customers while contributing to Zambia's economic development.
Meanwhile, Access Bank Zambia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Iheanyi Nwogu thanked customers, business partners and employees for their continued trust and support.
