First Lady Mutinta Hichilema Pays Tribute to Late Dr. Guy Scott

 


LUSAKA – First Lady Mutinta Hichilema has paid tribute to former Vice President Dr. Guy Lindsay Scott, describing him as a patriotic statesman whose integrity, humility and dedicated service to Zambia will be remembered for generations.

Mrs. Hichilema joined President Hakainde Hichilema and other national leaders at the funeral service held at the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka, where mourners gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of the late former Vice President.

She said Dr. Scott's unwavering commitment to national service earned him the respect and admiration of many Zambians throughout his distinguished public career.

The First Lady noted that Dr. Scott's contribution to Zambia's governance and democratic development will remain an enduring part of the country's history.

Mrs. Hichilema also extended her heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Charlotte Scott, the Scott family and their loved ones, expressing hope that the nation's support and prayers would provide comfort during this difficult time.

She concluded her tribute by wishing the late Dr. Scott eternal peace.

Dr. Guy Lindsay Scott served as Vice President of Zambia from 2011 to 2014 and later became the country's Acting President, leaving behind a legacy of public service, national unity and democratic leadership.
