LUSAKA - The second and final consignment of ballot papers for Zambia's August 13 General Election has arrived in the country, bringing the total number of ballot pallets delivered to 387.
The latest consignment comprising 185 pallets arrived at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at around 09:30 hours on Thursday.
The arrival follows the delivery of the first 202 pallets on Wednesday, bringing the total number of ballot pallets now in the country to 387.
Speaking to ZNBC News after the arrival of the final consignment, Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro said all the ballot papers required for the election are now in Zambia.
Mr. Kasaro said the arrival of the second consignment was incident-free and that no technical faults had been recorded during the transportation process.
Meanwhile, political parties participating in the August election have commended the ECZ for the manner in which the printing, transportation and delivery of the ballot papers have been handled.
Citizen First Lusaka Province Secretary Glenda Tupa said the party was satisfied with the process, particularly the involvement of stakeholders throughout the ballot printing and delivery exercise.
Tonse Alliance National Youth Chairperson Celestine Mukandila also expressed satisfaction with the manner in which the ballot papers are being stored.
Meanwhile, UPND Media Director Mark Simuwe said the party is satisfied with the way the ECZ has handled the entire ballot paper process.
The arrival of the final consignment marks the completion of the ballot paper transportation process ahead of the August 13, 2026 General Election.
