Over 500 Rwandan Refugees Repatriated from DR Congo

More than 500 Rwandan refugees were repatriated from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on Wednesday as part of an ongoing voluntary return programme, authorities have confirmed.

According to officials, about 400 returnees crossed into Rwanda through the Rubavu border post before being transferred to the Nyarushishi Transit Centre in Rusizi District, where they will undergo processing before being reintegrated into their respective communities.

The repatriation forms part of ongoing efforts to facilitate the safe and orderly return of refugees to Rwanda.

Authorities say the returnees will receive the necessary support during the reintegration process before returning to their areas of origin.
