LUSAKA - Zambia’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Ivan Zyuulu, has died after an illness.
The death was announced by Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa in a statement to ZNBC News in Lusaka.
Mr. Kangwa said Ambassador Zyuulu died on July 30, 2026, at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka.
He said the late Ambassador’s funeral gathering is being held at House Number 28, Boniface Simutowe Road, in the Presidential Housing Initiative (PHI) area of Lusaka.
Mr. Kangwa said burial arrangements will be announced later.
Ambassador Zyuulu served as Zambia’s chief envoy to China, where he played an important role in strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between Zambia and China.
Further details on his death and funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the Government.
