LUSAKA - The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has commenced the process of implementing President Hakainde Hichilema's directive to recruit volunteer health workers into the Civil Service.
CSC Chairperson Dr. Choolwe Beyani said the Commission has already received application documents from Muchinga, Northern, and Luapula provinces, where the President first announced the recruitment initiative.
Dr. Beyani said the Government is currently validating all submitted applications to ensure they meet the criteria outlined in the President's directive before appointments are finalised.
The recruitment process follows President Hichilema's recent announcement that volunteer health workers would be absorbed into the Civil Service as part of the Government's efforts to strengthen the country's healthcare workforce.
The Commission has not yet indicated when the validation exercise will be completed or when successful applicants will be officially appointed.
