Haimbe Says Hichilema's Confidence of Winning 9 Provinces Is Based on Direct Public Engagement

LUSAKA - UPND Vice Legal Chairperson Mulambo Haimbe says President Hakainde Hichilema's confidence in securing victory in nine out of Zambia's 10 provinces is based on direct assurances he has received from citizens during his nationwide campaign engagements.

Speaking in an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Haimbe said the President's optimism stems from his personal interactions with members of the public during his ongoing community engagements across the country.

He explained that beyond addressing campaign rallies, President Hichilema takes time to meet and engage directly with citizens, many of whom have expressed appreciation for the Government's policies and development initiatives.

Mr. Haimbe said the President's confidence is also anchored on what he described as the UPND administration's performance during its first term in office.

He further dismissed assertions that many UPND parliamentary candidates are unlikely to retain or win their respective constituencies, saying the party's candidates are equally confident of victory.

According to Mr. Haimbe, elections are won by persuading voters why a candidate deserves their support, adding that UPND parliamentary candidates are actively engaging communities across the country to earn that trust.
