KAPIRI MPOSHI – Citizens First (CF) President Harry Kalaba says he will restore Kapiri Mposhi's position as a key contributor to Zambia's economy if elected Republican President in this month's general election.
Speaking during a roadshow in Kapiri Mposhi, Mr. Kalaba said his administration would introduce industries aimed at creating employment opportunities and stimulating economic growth in the district.
He said agriculture would be prioritised alongside programmes focused on empowering women and young people to improve livelihoods and promote inclusive economic development.
Mr. Kalaba also noted that many township roads are in poor condition and pledged to rehabilitate them to improve the movement of people and goods.
He said the lack of industrial infrastructure has slowed the district's development and promised that a Citizens First government would establish new industrial facilities to unlock Kapiri Mposhi's economic potential.
The CF leader described Kapiri Mposhi's strategic location as vital to national development, adding that empowering young people and marketeers would form a key part of his economic agenda.
Mr. Kalaba said women would benefit from programmes designed to expand opportunities in business and leadership, while young people would receive skills training, entrepreneurship support and improved access to finance.
He further pledged to improve market infrastructure and trading conditions for marketeers, saying industrialisation would create jobs while driving broader economic growth across the district.
