LUSAKA – State House says its assessment of the ongoing presidential campaign indicates that many Zambians are appreciating the efforts made by the UPND administration since assuming office.
State House Chief Communications Specialist Clayson Hamasaka said the public is recognising government interventions aimed at reducing poverty, addressing economic challenges, reviving the mining sector, and improving agriculture and the energy sector.
Hamasaka told Phoenix News that the appreciation is also reflected in government's investments in education and healthcare, including the construction of schools and health facilities, the provision of desks, and the expansion of social support programmes.
He said many Zambians also understand the economic difficulties the government inherited, including the debt crisis and limited fiscal space, which have affected the pace of implementing some development programmes.
Hamasaka added that despite these challenges, the government remains committed to implementing development projects through public-private partnerships while continuing to make progress in sectors such as agriculture, education and infrastructure development.
