Hichilema Wins 2026 Presidential Election, Secures Second and Final Term


 LUSAKA - Hakainde Sammy Hichilema has won the 2026 Presidential Election and is set to enter his second and final term as President of Zambia.

Hichilema, the United Party for National Development (UPND) candidate, secured 2,965,326 votes.

National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) candidate Brian Mundubile finished second with 1,855,217 votes, giving Hichilema a lead of 1,110,109 votes.

Hichilema becomes the third of Zambia's six presidents since the reintroduction of multiparty politics in 1991 to win a second five-year term.
