LUSAKA - The Zambia Police Service has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media claiming that two former ministers have been arrested in connection with the alleged copper theft case on the Copperbelt.
Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi said the number of suspects arrested in the case remains six, as previously announced by the Zambia Police Service.
Mr. Chilabi clarified that no additional arrests have been made and urged members of the public to disregard misleading information circulating on social media.
He further advised the public to rely only on official statements issued by the Zambia Police Service for accurate information regarding the ongoing investigations.
The clarification follows widespread online claims alleging that two former ministers had been arrested in connection with the case involving the alleged theft of copper cathodes.
