Volunteer Doctors and Nurses Welcome President Hichilema at UTH

LUSAKA - Volunteer doctors and nurses at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) welcomed President Hakainde Hichilema with loud cheers and placards as he arrived to commission the rehabilitated and re-equipped Cancer Diseases Hospital.

The health workers lined up within the hospital premises to receive the President ahead of the official commissioning ceremony, expressing their support as he toured the upgraded facility.

The commissioning marks the completion of rehabilitation works and the installation of modern medical equipment aimed at strengthening Zambia's capacity to diagnose and treat cancer.

The upgraded Cancer Diseases Hospital is expected to improve access to specialised oncology services and enhance healthcare delivery for patients from across the country.

The commissioning forms part of Government's broader efforts to strengthen the health sector through improved infrastructure, equipment and specialised medical services.
