Mumbwa Man NOT Arrested as Police Investigate Alleged Rape of Teacher After Repeated Rejection of Love Proposals



MUMBWA - Police in Mumbwa District, Central Province, are investigating an alleged rape case in which a 50-year-old teacher was reportedly assaulted by a man who allegedly told her he was attacking her because she had repeatedly rejected his romantic advances.

According to a police report, the incident happened at around 23:00 hours on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in the Dam One area of Mumbwa.

The woman told police that she was asleep when she heard a noise inside her bedroom.

She said that after opening her eyes, she found two unknown men inside the room and asked them what they wanted.

According to the victim’s account, one of the men allegedly told her that they had entered the room because she routinely rejected men who approached her.

Police said one of the suspects was armed with a knife and threatened the woman to prevent her from raising an alarm.

The suspect then allegedly sexually assaulted her while the second suspect was present.

Following the incident, the woman reportedly experienced severe pain and later reported the matter to Mumbwa Police Station at around 16:00 hours on July 30.

Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made so far, while investigations into the alleged rape continue.
